Xiaomi TV A Pro 2025, reviews after first contact. Photo.

Xiaomi is back on track. Over the past three years I have had the opportunity to thoroughly analyze several televisions from this Chinese company, and they all had a few things in common: a Very attractive price/performance ratio. None of them could compete head-to-head for their image quality with the most advanced offerings from Sony, Panasonic, LG, Philips or Samsung, among other brands, but perhaps they didn’t want to. And, of course, its price was much lower than these televisions.

The TV A Pro 2025 model to which we are going to dedicate this article is a very worthy successor to the other entry-level or mid-range televisions of this brand that we have tested. We didn’t get a chance to analyze it in depth, but we found it to work quietly enough to be able to form an accurate idea of what it has to offer us. And what it offers us is not little, as we expected from the title. let’s go there

Advice provided by the brand

Its price/performance ratio is going to be hard to beat

There are no luxury finishes on this Xiaomi TV. Its enclosure is almost entirely made of polycarbonate, although yes, it has a slim frame and a design that’s at the level we can expect from a television of a certain ambition. However, its real heart is its panel. And the matrix that Xiaomi engineers have chosen is a panel LCD VA QLED de 8 bit + FRC And the choice of this matrix over 10-bit and 120 Hz with a native 60 Hz refresh rate is probably motivated by the need to offer this television at the most competitive price.

CERN has just described an important particle for physics more precisely than ever before: the W boson

FRC technology allows the matrix to create a wider color space by using adjacent pixels of different colors

If we’re sticking with color reproduction, the ideal is to have a 10-bit panel. FRC technology (Frame rate control) allows the matrix to create a wider color space using adjacent pixels of different colors giving us the impression that we are looking at a third color that is not actually part of the 8-bit panel’s color space. It seems like a far-fetched strategy, but it works. In addition, this television uses nanocrystals to produce color, and, although it does not resolve colorimetry with respect, it performs at a good level in this respect.

Regarding compatibility with high dynamic range content, it is capable of dealing with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. Xiaomi has not disclosed What is your maximum gloss delivery capacity?, but I suspect it will be relatively subdued, so HDR content probably won’t give us stunning viewing. Still, it’s just a guess. If we have a chance to test it thoroughly, we will confirm it.

This television is capable of processing HDR10 and Dolby Vision content, although Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed its maximum brightness distribution capabilities.

On the other hand, Xiaomi offers us Google TV and it seems successful to me. The latest revisions of this operating system run smoothly, and the quad-core processor of this TV A Pro 2025 manages to move it with ease. I wasn’t able to investigate its performance as quietly as I would have liked, but a priori its CPU meets the demands of the Google platform well. There is nothing to object to.

Let’s get to the most important thing: its overall image quality. This first contact wasn’t enough for me to share a definitive assessment with you, but this television certainly has more than respectable picture quality. As I mentioned above, it resolves colors well enough despite the inclusion of an 8-bit + FRC panel, but what caught my attention the most was its image processing. Capable of retrieving much detail while keeping high-frequency noise under control. Not all televisions in the entry and mid-range range behave this way.

Unfortunately I can’t tell you anything about its sound. The place I was able to test it had a lot of ambient noise, so I couldn’t rate it. In any case, it should not be overlooked that its connection, although not bad, is limited. And it includes three HDMI inputs that implement the 2.0 standard and a single USB 2.0 port. Regarding wireless connectivity, it offers us Wi-Fi (Xiaomi does not indicate which standard it applies) and Bluetooth 5.0.
