Features, price and technical sheet

Respect does not stop. After introducing its new Honor 200 and Magic6 ranges, the Chinese firm has just launched its first folding clamshell: Honor Magic V Flip. Like other smartphones in this category, the Magic V Flip offers us an internal screen that folds inwards and a generous external screen through which to interact with the device without opening it.

We will get to it better below, but not before highlighting that the terminal has been announced in China and, at the moment, there is no news of its arrival at our borders. At the expense of knowing whether Honor will bring it or not, we are going to review what its new foldable has to offer us.

If there’s one thing that characterizes Honor’s latest foldables, it’s their thickness. The Chinese firm can boast of having some of the thinnest foldables on the market, and its new Magic V Flip doesn’t fall short: the terminal measures 7.15 millimeters when open and 14.89 millimeters when folded. Weight, for its part, remains 193 gramsA figure that’s not bad at all considering there’s a 4,800 mAh battery, but we’ll come back to that later.

Most interesting is its external screen. Honor has managed to fit a four-inch screen that occupies virtually the entire top half (85%, to be exact) with a 2.87mm edge. This screen has a resolution of 1,200 x 1,082 pixels and typ You are LTPO, so its refresh rate can be reduced to just 0.1 Hz to save standby battery life. Brightness, by the way, reaches 1,600 nits. Additionally, it’s fully customizable and, according to Honor, covers “80% of user use cases”.

If we take a look inside we can see between 12 and 16 GB of RAM, Up to 1TB of internal storage And the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is not the latest Soc from the company and in some ways, it makes sense to choose an older platform so that the price does not skyrocket, but the truth is that it should not be underestimated. of power, not too little.

The operating system runs under Android 14 and MagicOS 8.0, Honor tier. The firm has made some changes to optimize it for the folding format and, for example, allows the camera to be used when the mobile is folded. Regarding autonomy, Honor has implemented a carbon and silicon anode battery that allows it to combine capacity with thickness, so that the device has a battery of 4,800 mAh capacity and 4,800 mAh divided into two parts with fast charging.
